We had one on our Countryman when we had it and it's was great. We had a Rhyno mover. It is a little more tricky to fit into the countryman but the Rhyno guy was great.
I have one fitted to my Countryman as I was struggling to move it on my own. Although expensive, without it I couldn't use the camper. I used Autowfix to fit it - at the time they gave £50 off if caravan club member. Think it's the Enduro 2.
Rhyno is another option. Powrtouch wasnt suitable for the chassis, but I can't remember what they told me when I called. Towsure also didn't have any suitable models when I was researching suitable models early last year.
You will need to have space alongside one wheel to be able to activate the motor mover - you use a wheel nut type wrench to manually engage mover on to wheel. I swapped my tool for one with a longer handle to give me more leverage. When you engage on one side, both movers are engaged at same time.
As with anything, I found pro and cons with both the Ryno and Enduro. However, as the Countryman is relatively light and I was not going to be asking it to go up a steep drive, I thought that they would both do a good job.
I've only got a small battery box but a local battery supplier had a suitable battery. I can get the name for you if you need it.
Where is all of the wiring fitted. Does it use up any of the limited storage space in the camper ? Also where have they situated the red key to turn it on/off ?
Our key was just inside the door, on our current Pullman its inside the battery box but there is no room with the countryman as the battery compartment is small.
My battery isolator is underneath the battery box. I have to reach underneath to turn it on/ off. If I'm parked on gravel I use a garden kneeler but I have one in the front locker anyway. The only problem is that I have forgotten it a couple of times and driven off with key still in place. Now the battery key has a long bit of bright orange guy rope on it so I can tie it to the front handle or to the wrench as a reminder. I have also purchased a spare from a caravan acessories shop as only one was supplied and that is taped inside the glove box in the car.
The control box is in the cupboard under the sink. It doesn't really take up any space. I only keep my washing up bowl in that cupboard anyway. The downside is that if you have a problem you can't use the led lights on the control panel to help identify the fault. However, last year my faults were user error or flat battery and quickly identified.
I have an Enduro mover. The isolator key is on the side of the trailer forward of the water connector and battery box. It has its own little box housing and cover. It's a very handy solution.
The control box is in the water heater cupboard below the sink.
The mover is fitted behind the wheels and needed special 'drop brackets' as the chassis members are not as deep as standard caravan ones. Hope that helps.
I have the perfect solution I had a Conway countryman I got myself a camper trolley ct1500 have a look on you tube it has its own battery fully rechargeable so no issues there easy to fit without the need to employ some one to do it for you, its as new hardly used having now changed to a caravan I no longer need this, if its of intrest to you let me know
