Hi All, We have never camped but have decided this is what we want to do after camping in the San Bernadino Mountains last year with friends. We have bought the trailer tent shown in the title & are due to collect it in early May. Our question is besides the actual storage that is part of the tent inside the trailer is there any other room in the trailer for other bits & pieces. We have bought a large box for the front of the trailer & hopefully this will carry some stuff. We have 2 Border Collies which will take the boot space in our estate car so we don't have that storage available whilst travelling. We are older starters to this type of adventure so any tips etc would be gratefully received.

Roof rack and a carrier box will help enorously. We put the lighter but bulkier items in it, such as sleepinh bags, pillows etc.

Might be best to do a short weekend trip close to home first. There are lists on here of suggested items to take. We all seem to fill the available space with everything we think we need!

Some prefer to take just the essencials, personally we take everything we need to create a home from home.

But with an estate you should be fine. You don't mention if the rear seats of the car will have little people?

Welcome to the site

I leave the beds made on my TT, and can fit a couple crates of clothes etc inside the middle of the TT when folded, and groundsheet, legs etc in the front box. Awning folds down into the two bench seat storage bits.

Leaving loads of room in the car......

I also have my camping chairs and the awning poles on top of the trailer before putting cover on.

We can get everything we need except clothes and food in our trailer tent and front box. That includes camping chairs etc and the bedding. You'll be surprised at how much stuff you can stow away in the boxes, cubby holes and drawers and kitchen in the trailer. We even take a fitted memory foam mattress as well as 2 underbed tents.
