Hi everyone, so recently we have been building up our camping equipment after a couple of years using an old Conway clipper then having the use of my parents static.we had that story of looking it out, was it working and what state had it got into. We had items in the garden shed and up in the attic. But we soon realised that most items had been ruined or damaged. So over a few weeks we had slowly been building up our equipment, new carpets, chairs, a couple of tables, new bedding and an electric cool box. After setting it out it became apparent that we needed more storage and transport space. So next was roof bars and followed by a roof bag. We went with the idea of a roof bag and the use of dry bags for to be used for bedding. I was scanning the pages of our local Gumtree and bang... this wee beauty lol the door and and the inside there is a bit of work that I'm in the process of doing, I'm sorting the outside and the wife is taking control with the inside. All curtains have been remade and the beds/couch are getting recovered by my wife and her trusty sewing machine. This came at an almost giveaway price with gas bottle waste and water bottles and an awning and brand new spare wheel and new transit cover. So it looks as though our old tent will be going back in to the attic for some more time. I will keep you updated with the progress cheers Paul ps sorry I had to write this using my mobile lol

I bought an Aztec at the end of last year. I've dyed the curtains, covered the chairs with throws and put new lino down. Looking forward to our maiden voyage at the end of the month.

This week with a few days in between shift rota's and some sunshine ( so nice to see it) I took off the old graphics and sanded back some of the old paint work. I gave it an undercoat then painted in a nice vibrant white. I removed the wheels and rubbed them down and sprayed them white too. I will look into what Graphics to get, the wife wants the old style with the lines (I'm happy to forget them). My lovely wife has remade all the curtains with a new nice linen. All week the nice man from the delivery company has been knocking on the door with a nice new parcel for it lol this is going from a cheap project to an expensive hobby lol photos to follow

I'll be interested in seeing your photos. Hubby has mentioned painting the exterior of ours.

I first took off the old paint, I should have taken more time on this part, then I sprayed them, then I removed all the old graphics and sanded the wee battle scars that it had, then I undercoated it using a metal/aluminium undercoat paint once dry I gave it a light sand to remove any wee bumps. I then gave it 2 coats using Ronseal No Rust metal paint (smooth) then once I fitted the wheels that had been sprayed, it started to look alright, I also painted the arches to get rid of the brown lol this isn't a professional spray job, this was done in the garden in Scotland in between heavy looking clouds last week, I sprayed the wheels using a rattle can and painted the body using a gloss roller and tray. We are stuck with what graphics to go with. Go for it make the camper yours, we are unsure what to do with the inside kitchen unit, keep it as it is or paint? Good luck with it

Well done, it looks like new! The kitchen and cupboards in ours are in very good condition, otherwise I would have been tempted to paint them. I've seen lots of posts in makeover and folding campover forums on facebook where cupboards have been painted or covered in fablon and they look really good.

As there was a hole in the roof canvas that had been patched with a white patch the size of an A3 sheet of paper I had enquired about a new fix. So after my local company not wanting to do it and another saying we needed a whole new canvas we came up with a new idea. We went to a company that makes curtains for HGV trailers and the likes. I asked them it they could make a covering for over the top that was fitted at the corners and had eyes for guide lines so it doesn't take off in the wind. I am calling it "the hat" lol so I have received the email to say that it's ready, I will put pictures up when it's on,
Cheers
Paul

I thought it was for over the middle of awning but there are no clips to secure. Any help with finding a home for the poles would be grateful
