Hi - we have a Conway Tardis (1986) model - hard top - the hard top needs re-sealing - can anyone recommend something to use and where I would buy it from?  the canvas also needs re-proofing as we had it up a couple of days and it is leaking in - in a few places - what is the best thing to use? is Fabsil the best or can anyone recommend an alternative.  I have seen Fabsil is sold in a few different sizes on one website - does anyone know who much I would need to re-proof a Conway Tardis? (hard top)? - is there a cheaper version that does the same job?

Would be very very grateful for some help on this one as we have never had to do this before. Also is a spray better or to paint it on?

I used a 5l tin of waterproofer I got from a hardware store - it was for bricks and concrete but also fabrics including canvas. It was half the price of fabsil, didn't smell as strong & guaranteed to last for years! Well tested last weekend and well waterproof. I think I did oversaturate the canvas by using a brush - a spray is more economical but it does need brushing out with a cloth or brush.

I don't know about the hard top - does it need completely sealing or is it just edges/joints? Would that stuff that you do baths with be any good?

For re sealing DONT use bathroom type sealant, its just not up to it. Use Sikaflex 512 for caravans ( its expensive at 10 pound a tube ). Make sure the area is very clean first, the wipe down with white spirit and allow to dry, then apply a bead of the sealant and its done ! any questions then let me know.
