Hello all

Me and my wife have bought a Conway Miami dl trailer tent. We have put it up and all looks good, but the canvas is looking rather dated. We wondered has anyone painted or sprayed the canvas to give it a more youthful life!

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved. Btw we have three young children so to make it appeal to them as well.

Thanks in advance

Dave and Pippa

I wouldnt touch it. I would open it out and wet it throughly to make sure its waterproof. If it hasnt been used for a while the fibres may have shrunk. If it leaks a little let it dry then throughly wet it again.
It may be tempting to try and colour it but its more important for it to be weather proof.
I know aquasil used to do a paint on sealant that was available in colours to renovate faded canvas but not sure if its still available. Please be aware though its usually better to leave canvas as it is if its still waterproof. If you do decide to use a sealant it will damage the natural water repellancy of the canvas and will have to be reproofed every few years

I agree with pnefan, wet it and check if its still waterproof, once you start using a waterproofer you'll have to do it every year.
