Actually, I think it would not about time to set up but time to pack away. You can get from stop to kettle in under half an hour easy, but that might not include curtains, bed skirts, toilet filling, water gathering etc.

You don't need to do all of those when setting up, but when packing away you have to do everything at once. With three kids, I would consider any pack up that takes us less than 90 minutes from the alarm as a minor miracle.

Hi..
Like you, looking at the Camp-let, we're quite impressed...and since they first caught our eye, we have seen someone putting one up on 'site...and although admittedly there was a fair amount of pegging involved, once done the whole thing, awning an all, is up
Whereas looking at some of the other fold-out types, they only assemble the beds/sofa? and they still appear to leave you with 45mins worth of faffin' with a jumble of poles/"canvas" if you want the awning/canopy for living space etc...?

Having said that, there's a chap a couple of streets away with a small, single sided Raclet (Solena?) and that looks quite neat, all be it "compact"

Yeah raclet quickstop, although a solena may be better for just two...

It's much better to see them in the flesh and work out how they go up.

Had a few quickstops, great little campers.

Currently have a pathfinder and a camplite.

Pathfinder is about 15 minutes for the main unit and then the same again if we put the awning up.

Campilte took us seven minutes to set up last week :)

Why the concern about how long it takes, In adverse weather conditions my wife and I can have our Pathfinder set up in 10 minuets ,possibly putting the thing up nearly 100 times over 15 years helps, If on the other hand if someone passes by and wants a chat it can take over 30 minuets to set up,It takes as long as it takes when we go on trips its for us to chill out and relax, and not some kind of timed race.

Hi Dimbles - I agree with you as I am not usually overly concerned with the time it takes to put up it's just that we want something very simple and easy so we can do overnight stops when we do a little tour around Europe with some longer stops in places. Sometimes we've taken the whole afternoon to set up while our friend who is staying in his sister's nearby bungalow comes over to watch us!

How long it takes;and how easy it is(or not?), to deployed a "camper" seems a perfectly valid question to me?..

If time, and ease, was supposedly of no "concern"("it's not a race" etc), then why aren't FC owners content to be wrestling with setting up a big tent?....

We bought a Solena in April 2016 and have still to master the 'Single woman erects cabin in 2 minutes' routine, largely because a) I fanny around making minute adjustments; b) the Camping Municipal (sandy) pitches in France can get washed away and getting a floor level in a giant washing up bowl shape is very difficult; c) we also have a Thule softbox on the tt roofrack so that takes 5-10 minutes to dismantle, empty and fold away under the trailer; and d) We take far too much kit & clobber 'just in case'. But we're getting there - slowly! We were away for 4 days last week at Montmorillon, Vienne (€11.90 per night so just under £11 for Solean, Car, 2 adults, ehu and a free BBQ +wine on the first night!). Brilliant little site - unfortunately, we arrived late, the BBQ was about to start, I fanny around - so, after a pleasant meal and sharing of wine, we began connecting lights and power supplies at 11:30pm with lots of 'shushing' between ourselves ... People still spoke to us next morning - all very civil. We're hoping to go to Clisson (near Nantes) tomorrow - late departure because I need to wait for my bike to be repaired - I'm determined to get the 'cabin only' set up down to 30 minutes after the Soft Box has been removed - including running electrical connection through the canvas walls which the elasticated/Velcro straps make quite fiddly. Once set up, the Solena is comfy for 2 and is a doddle to tow and manoeuvre - just not as simple as the Raclet Video on You Tube would have you believe!

We have a Solena and it is amazingly quick and easy to set up for overnighters. It opens like a pram hood and requires no pegging down. Really does take 20 minutes to set up from the time you arrive, park it up and level it to popping the wine cork 👍🏻😀 If you are staying longer and use the awning then add on 30 minutes as the awning does require pegging down. We are both OAPs and love our Solena xx

Most folding camper and Pathfinder owners in particular
when doing short overnight stops do a semi erection in that only the corner steadies and the outer canvas is used, the rest of the camper is left as is with no curtains or any of the internal fittings being erected, the seating cushions makes a comfy bed without being set up or messed with, This can easily be done in less than ten minuets

It all depends on the make and model. Our Comanche Montana being non peg is very fast But still takes 20min to set up and 30 min to break down including all packing.

Really?..
The OP asked how quickly(and by default, presumably how easily?)FCs & TTs can be deployed..and as they want to use one for quick stopovers on-route, a very pertinent question..

Some responders (yourself included) posted reponses like,- "..why the concern.." "..it's not a race.." etc..

I just pointed out that, if set-up/pack away time was really of no "concern" to FC owners, then why would they have bought FCs in the first place?...
..*as surely the speed and ease that they can be erected is one of their main benefits..?
and also probably one of main things that was checked out prior to purchase?
(*if it wasn't/isn't then they may as well have just bought a tent... )
