Hello all, My husband and i have just sold our oldish caravan and are really interested in buying a trailer tent. The one I have fallen in Love with is £11000 and I havent got that I have got £3500. Trouble is I want one with a cooker. Is this possible for my price budge?. Im not fussed about loo, although that would be a bonus. I would want an awning and maybe even one annexe for extra sleeping arrangements.

I have had a look everywhere and seen hundreds. Some have some of what I want but not all of what I want.

Am I being unrealistic ? Be honest ?

Thank-you

I have seen some lovely brand new ones all singing and dancing, but for the money that we have we wouldnt be able to justify paying 11000 for one but with 3500 I know that I could get a pretty good folding camper that has all the advantages of a caravan without the trouble of having to peg out, just have to look in the newspapers at good second hand ones I bet you can get one thats about 2 - 3 years old with the awning for your price range.

That sort of money would buy you something decent. We have a loo but really its not htat much better than the porta potti in the awning was. The fixed cooker and decent fridge matter far more to me. Look at the classified ads on here. Make sure it comes with the awning they are expensive and difficult to source.

Try the conway owners and pennine owners websites. They both a classified section. You should be able to pick a nice unit for the money you are prepared to spend.

hi laylou have you seen a particular one that you like ? if so have you looked on ebay at the folding campers they have a variety of different models and prices. We recently bought a pennine sterling from the loot free ads, ask as many questions as you can when considering purchasing from a private buyer and if its a long way from you ask for lots of photos to look at too. we drove over 200 miles to get ours but we did ask lots of questions and had lots of photos sent to us via email. How many of you would there be going ?. if up to 4 people i could recommend the conway challenger which is what we had before this one but does not have a built in fridge.  or for 6 or more and you want the fridge  the sterling or conway crusier are good units. i wanted a built in fridge which is why we bought the sterling.hope this may help you descide. Also ask dealers to send you brochures then puruse at home before trailing round the camping places to try them out.
