Could anyone tell me where the best place to go and look at some folding campers. Have pretty much decided to move on to one from our trusty tent, but it is all new to me.
The advice about where to go will depend on your location, if you put the details in your profile it will help give some meaningful advice.
Here are a few suggestions though you would have to check to see what they have before travelling: Highbridge Caravans, Black Country Caravans, Camperlands, Burcroft Camping, or you could go to the NEC next month.
Why don't you have a look on YouTube to see how the campers go up and what they look like inside and then maybe narrow it down to ones you prefer, that way you can have a look for one for sale near you. You might have to google the nearest place that sells them .
------------- May 2017 - Haworth 1 night
June 2017 - Newton in Bowland 1 night
July 2017 - Hawkshead 3 nights
July 2017 - Malham 2 nights
August 2017 - Otley 1 night
August 2017 - Newton in Bowland 1 night
September 2017 - Otley 1 night
If you are in Warwickshire you should definitely aim for the NEC Show in October. Pennine and Opus should be there along with some more traditional trailer tents for comparison.
If looking at second hand then you have Burcroft camping near Billing Aquadrome which won't be too far from you and they have a stock of used ones listed on their website. Well worth a wander whether buying or not
We found Terry at Camping International very helpful.
I'm sure they will have a stand at the NEC show and it gives you a chance to compare campers.

We've had a camplet savanne, a Pennine Quartz, a camper van and have now settled for a new Pennine Countryman which we purchased at show last year. We're really pleased with it, perfect size for towing and comfort. (couple both >60years)
Enjoy!
Hello Mark,
I was in the same boat a few days ago but I bought a Countryman just yesterday that was advertised on this site. :-)
I was given this advice by the very helpful man in the local camping shop: don't buy a folding camper less than 2010 because new models have the new acrylic material. You're going to be buying it for a couple of years so you want a new(er) model which will last you going forward. Be very careful of any dents or breaks cos they can allow water in. Ideally let someone give it the once over for you.
That's not always possible from private advertisers though, and i don't know what your budget is. He also said this is the right time of the season to pick up a bargain. Come March they are quicker to sell, and more expensive too.
I found it very hard cos you want to have a look at something before you buy, and round my neck of the woods that wasn't possible. i did a ton of research and i narrowed it down to a Quickstep or a Countryman...but my heart was set on the countryman really and now i"m the very, very proud owner of one.
I really do wish you the best in your search.
......just to add, the thing about the newer model is about acrylic vs canvas. I have a friend with a folding tent and he said it's very heavy. I'm going to be camping with just my girls (husband is yet to be converted) so i had to bear this in mind.
But i'm aware there's a big debate over what material is better.

id disagree with acrylic over canvas... ten year old canvas looking as good as the day it came out of the workshop here, dries faster too!.
