Hi, I've just bought a secondhand pennine air porch and it came with two four peice poles and a couple of guy lines. They are 2 metres long when assembled and quite thin, about 12mm. They have a spike at one end and a rubber bung at the other. Their's no mention of them in the parts list but I'm wondering if they're used to turn the front door into a suncanopy. Anyone got any ideas.
John

Sounds very likely. Most porch awnings have that facility.

Do the pennine air awnings fit sterling? They are advertised as fitting the pathfinder.

I do own a sterling and you're correct the air awning won't fit. But we've decided that we really need an inside loo (age related problem), hot and cold water will be nice, and as I do the cooking, an oven will be useful. We are picking up a used 2007 pathfinder on Saturday. Then I have to transfer my Powrtouch mover from one to the other.

We have had a sterling for which I adapted a porch awning, then we moved to a pathfinder, with motor mover and lightweight awning poles. invested in the pennine air awning, easy to put up, ample space for two.
I found the fitting to cabin a bit fiddly, a zip would be better and I would have sewn one in, excepting that we have now on impulse moved to a small 2berth caravan, my hubby is a young 84.

We still have the pathfinder, I LOVED it and if truth be told, would chose it over caravan, the only downside was wet pack ups.

Our sons now use both the sterling and pathfinder.

I am considering sewing an awning bead round the air awning to adapt to fit the caravan.

There's just the two of us as well so I think the air awning should do us as even putting up the sterling awning I find a bit of a chore.
But Sandra, caravan, sterling and pathfinder?
That's just greedy

The sterling awning is more hassle than the full pathfinder which I found easy, the poles are much lighter and the fittings better, we only used the air porch once and went back to the full awning, we found it just as easy.

I just love the pathfinder, and would use it, but it stresses hubby.
Youngest son will use it with his family (7) and eldest son will have sterling, if they decide Pennines are not for them then they will be sold next year.

We have camped and caravanned for over 40years, the pathfinder ticked all boxes.............

You are correct John. They are indeed intended to be used to form a sun canopy out of the front door. Work quite well actually however I'm not too keen on the stress it possibly exerts on the zip when pulled forward and open.

The pathfinder we've bought still has the steel poles, I may buy the lighter ones but they're not cheap.

We found the airawning awkward to start with, but have now got it down to a fine art. We have thought it would be better with a zip though.
