I found the fitting to cabin a bit fiddly, a zip would be better and I would have sewn one in, excepting that we have now on impulse moved to a small 2berth caravan, my hubby is a young 84.

We still have the pathfinder, I LOVED it and if truth be told, would chose it over caravan, the only downside was wet pack ups.

Our sons now use both the sterling and pathfinder.

I am considering sewing an awning bead round the air awning to adapt to fit the caravan.

The sterling awning is more hassle than the full pathfinder which I found easy, the poles are much lighter and the fittings better, we only used the air porch once and went back to the full awning, we found it just as easy.

I just love the pathfinder, and would use it, but it stresses hubby.
Youngest son will use it with his family (7) and eldest son will have sterling, if they decide Pennines are not for them then they will be sold next year.

We have camped and caravanned for over 40years, the pathfinder ticked all boxes.............

You are correct John. They are indeed intended to be used to form a sun canopy out of the front door. Work quite well actually however I'm not too keen on the stress it possibly exerts on the zip when pulled forward and open.
