Can anyone help. Does anyone have a Conway Challenger 1991/1992 (brown and gazelle colour) model. Can anyone who does have one please let us know how the settee is erected. A picture of the rear of the back rest would be really helpful or please can anyone tell us how the back rest stays up. We may have something missing. Thanks in advance.

Hi you should have two small poles (about two foot long, with a C clip on one end and a flat end on the other end ). The c clips on the backrest and the flat end goes into a slot into the bed board under the window.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. We think we have the two short poles, they were in the bag with the awning poles and looked like the poles we saw on a demonstration of a newer model than ours. If that is the case and we will see next time we open it then that is good but our problem is we definitely do not have the two slots on the bed boards to receive the two poles. Are they attached with screws? Our bedboards have no evidence whatsoever that the slots were ever on them. Do you know where we can gets the slots? If so I presume it will be a simple job of screwing them in. Your help would be much appreciated if you could let us know. Thanks once again for your reply.

The slots, if they are there, are not easy to see. They are right at the edge of the bed boards, under the window. It's quite possible you don't have them, but I would have a really good look, as they are very easy to miss.

Thanks for your reply. We will have a really good look when we open it again. We actually had the two short poles in our hands clipping them to the backrest looking for the slots that we saw on the demo and they wern't there (unless like you say we have missed them). Hopefully that is the case. Every time we get it open we have another go because we want to use the settee but without any joy so I'm not that hopeful. We started to think that our model must be set up a different way. We now know from you that it is the two poles and the two slots so that is really helpful. Thanks again for your help it is appreciated.

Thanks very much for your replies. They were where you said under the plastic sheet and were difficult to see especially when you don’t really know what exactly you are looking for. As said the two poles weren’t kept separately but were in the bag mixed in with the awning poles. Thanks again. Nice to be able to erect the settee and have a backrest! Thanks - simple when you know how!
