Hi all
I wonder if anyone could advise where I can source replacement brake shoes etc for my camper. When towing I get the odd squeak under braking. Assume they used drums and shoes that are readily available. About time I checked / replaced before next use.
Cheers
Chris
If chassis is a well known make like Alko you can get brake parts from Western Towing. Google for website. Or any other parts supplier. You can still get Alko parts back to 80s. If brakes have not been serviced for a while they may just need drums taking off, cleaning & some copperslip grease on pivots. Are you familiar with caravan brakes? They need correct adjustment. Before around 1995 bearings need regreasing. After that then sealed bearings with hub nuts that need renewing after service & tightened to correct torque. Plenty of info online if you search.
Hi all
Thanks for your advice and manual in last post useful. However I read somewhere that the early Conway Cardinals (ours is an 89 model) weren't Alko chassis but later ones were. Is there a way to confirm this, maybe a stamp mark somewhere?
Maybe an idea to email Blue Sky, he is an expert in his field.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
