I have a Pennine fiesta 2 plus 2.
Should I orientate it with the kitchen end facing the wind or the door into the wind.
Perhaps it makes no difference, advice please.
Providing of course no rules on site on which way the unit faces.

I wouldn't worry too much about which way the wind is blowing...it could change direction the next day. I generally pitch my tent either for the best view when seated outside or the best position for my bed so my head is uphill.

I check the weather forecast, and arrange the unit I have so the door/entry is NOT facing the wind.

If need be, I'll re-align when convenient.

I would put the smallest end into the wind. A bedroom in your case.

Can’t comment on the Fiesta, but having accidentally pitched our pathfinder with the door facing the wind in the netherlands last summer, just before a force 8 gale arrived - we realised it was a mistake and should have gone narrow end windward.

We came back from a day out and the awning was collapsed (the tie downs worked but the wind had snapped the carbon fibre poles), the camper was fine (pretty impressive) but I could see that the continual wind pressure could eventually deform the metal canopy supports of the camper. We couldn’;t collapse it in those winds so we just wound the jockeys up and swung it around into the wind. Sorted.

(And Terry at Camping International was very helpful in sourcing the replacement awning poles) - does make you question the wisdom of carbon fibre poles though - all the caravans with old school metal pole awnings were fine.
