Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any idea about the going rate for a used Pathfinder? We're looking at a 2003/2004 model (with the green seats) and have found one for sale. It's up for £3k but we only have around £2,500 to play with.

Looking on the eBay completed listings, all of the pathfinders of this age that have sold in the last month have been £1,700-£2,400 so i'm wondering if this seems a bit overpriced?

It's in good condition according to ad, although I haven't seen it yet, but doesn't come with any accessories (I would need to purchase hook up, wheel and hitch locks, leisure battery)

Thanks

We paid double that, from a dealer though,so their prices will obviously be higher. Make them the offer of your limit and hope they want rid of it bad enough to sell at a lower price. They may meet you in the middle if you can afford that? If it’s exactly what you want it will be worth whatever you pay. A Pathfinder is a lovely folding camper. The accessories can be bought in good condition second hand,so you could make a saving there? Have you looked on Preloved site? They have a lot of F.C.’s for sale and there are always bargains. Good luck.

Cheers, yeah ive had a good look through. To be honest the £2,500 is what I'd be willing to pay it was just a shock to see that all of the pathfinders sold recently were for much less than this. Wasnt sure whether this was a realistic representation of the market or not

I've noticed it seems to depend on which part of the country you are in, it can cost about £1000 more in the South.

We have a 2006 pathfinder, purchase by us in 2016 from a reputable dealer. It didn't have any extras (they are usually taken out), but it did have a full service, awning extension and an Alko hitch and a motor mover. The canvas was original and in good condition although some age related spots, the interior was in nice condition. We paid £4,600, and worth every penny in our opinion.

Have a look at Facebook page 'trailer tents for sale' there are all types of outfits on there at all prices.

We purchased a 2005 model 3 weeks ago & paid £2900 which we found to be a good price as even some 2000 model where selling for £3000. The man we bought off had been told by a dealer it was worth about £4000 but not sure how true that was. This our third pathfinder and we have just swapped back from having a caravan for a couple of years and could be more please with our purchase. As already said the location does make a difference on the price but in your favour there does seems to be plenty about on the market at the moment.
Good luck in finding what you want.

thanks for the replies. Yeah i'm up in the North East and thought it may be a bit cheaper up here than some other places. Seen a couple of Crusaders at around £2-2.2k mark so think i'll hold off. Not in a desperate rush, our first confirmed trip won't be until 01st Sept, although a few other trips may need to happen if we get one soon.

we paid £4000 last summer for a 2006 pathfinder. One owner from new but had not been used for 6 years so needed a service and tyres but it was in fantastic condition.
It did come with absolutely everything though including several fold up cupboards and wardrobes, pans, lights and cutlery.
Personally I would go and look at a few under and over a budget and get a feel for the condition they are in. Some we looked at where shocking

thanks for all the advice. I've just decided on the £2,500 Pathfinder as it's within 50 miles and meant we could go and have a good look at the van today.

Check the canvas for mold. Go inside and look up to sun/light. Be aware of any much lighter patches you.

If you are then happy with the price, go for it, don't worry thatyou go have found one cheaper. (Thats sod's law)

yeah I had a good look and canvas seems in good condition. Flooring / seating / mattresses / curtains immaculate. Few scrapes etc on body but that's not an issue. Comes with alko hitch too!
