I have just put up the frame for my 3rd hand trailer tent, and some of the springs are not holding the poles,  how difficult is it to replace the springs,  can it be done at home or do they have to be professionally fitted ?  Are they key to the rigidity of the frame, or does the canvas hold every thing in place ?

Thanks

Jonathan

real doddle to do .  just seperate the two poles push the old spring clip out of the way if can't remove it and then push the new one in its place but make sure you line up the new clip with the hole it will go through then put the two poles back together. you can get a metal rod with a V end to it that sometimes come in the packet for putting it in with .

hope this helps .

It must be easy to do, I replaced all the springs in my awning poles last year, worked a treat. The 'special' tool saved me a lot of hassle and cut fingers too.

Thanks Kerion,  I got the springs, and the tool for about 6 quid,  all my poles are flexing the springy muscles, also, I don't have 30 odd parts just 10 easy assemble bits

thanks again
