Hi, I am new to this site and sleeping under canvas, so I am looking for the voices of experience with a problem I have with my newish (2014) camplet Concorde, when folding it down the right hand frame sits a little high and needs some jiggling about to get it to close? Any one help ?
A second problem I have is that the kitchen housing is clashing with the bolt on the fold out bracket and has dented the casing. This happens when closing the kitchen unit back into the trailer. I have checked it several times and the cloth strap is in place. I have also noticed that the right hand frame with the connecting bar removed sits on top of the hinge section.

Sorry for the long post but can anybody offer some guidance?

Thanks in advance

Hi,and welcome. Sounds like the swing-out kitchen pole may not have folded down fully. This can happen sometimes if the canvas doesn't fold down evenly or gear placed in the trailer is too close to the edges.I have, in the past, managed to put the strap on the base of the pole only to find the top end sitting higher because of canvas bunching up under it. As you say, jiggling usually sorts this.
Unfortunately, the more serious possibility is that the kitchen pole has been bent. You can check this by running your hand along the pole feeling for a kink.

Never come across your second problem. Is the dent in the side or the front of the kitchen module? All I can think of is the lever on the lid latch is not fully down and fouling the kitchen housing when closed?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lincoln57, i think the canvas does bunch when folded so will keep an eye on it. Do not store anything inside the pods. I think the dent in the side of the kitchen unit was caused by the kitchen pole flexing out due to whT may have been severe bunching of the canvas in the far right corner as the kitchen pole bracket lifts outward slightly as the two pods are closed together.. i will need to keep an eye on this and get some more practice during weekends away!

Thanks for your time.

If it’s broke fix it, don’t buy new.
