So we have likely used our camper (Conway clubman for the final time this year. The previous owner always kept it outside and we will be doing the same (a teeny bit too wide to go into our garage!!

What advice would anybody give for storing outside during those winter months?

*Obviously handbrake will be left off to prevent freezing on etc

*Looking at a cover of sorts or failing that just a large tarpaulin to put across top (with something to 'peak' in the middle for run off

We store ours on the drive. We empty it completely of all soft furnishings. We put boards under the travel cover,and put it at an angle, so that water runs off. We find opening it when the weather is dry and a little breezy through winter months makes sure we don’t get any dampness or mould.

We store ours outside, just watch out for mice! Little critters chewed a tiny hole in the main canvas, the FC was empty of all food but they LOVE croc's and sleeping mats!

We had a mouse problem sivertopsandra. That’s why we empty ours of everything other than crockery and saucepans. I wash those in boiling water come spring.

We used to empty our of all bedding, mattresses, soft furnishings (stored them under beds indoors ...

Then put our roof box on two planks on top of the travel cover ... then a winter storage cover over the whole lot ...

The dome created by the roof box meant no water run off problems.

Kept the jockey wheel end fully raised.

After one very snowy winter we changed to a storage (indoor/secure) in France ... that saved a lot on ferry costs, and got rid of any problems with outdoor storage ... always dry as a bone and able to leave bedding and soft furnishings in place year round.

We stored ours folding camper outside for 3 winters, always left all the cushions and soft furnishings in without any problems. We always kept an old airbed under the top cover to stop water pooling and if necessary brushed off any snow.

No mould, no damage, everything was given a good clean in spring and we were ready to go again.

I put a couple of old footballs under my cover as well as tilting it as far back as it goes. The footballs help with rain run off and there's some space for air to circulate. I put two large blocks of wood under the front legs and then jack the front end as high as it will go. Water can't collect anywhere then. I like to open it up on a nice breezy day during autumn and winter and try for at least once a month if I can. Been storing outside like this for 5 years or more now and it's fine.
