We previously had a Trigano Galleon and it was a great TT. I think the main trailer part is pretty much the same as the Raclet so it’s the awnings you need to compare really. I’m not too familiar with what the Raclet comes with but if you go for the full Galleon UK SE model you will get two awnings - the main large awning and a separate porch awning. Both have full doors and either can be attached directly to the main tent or you can put both of them up together. We found this the best feature of the tent as it was really versatile. For shorter breaks we could get away with just the porch on and for longer breaks we had a fantastic space with the main awning and the porch was a really useful extra space - especially as you can enclose it if you needed to (a wet fortnight in Cornwall and we ate in the porch the entire time so were glad we could shut the door and not take up the main awning with our table and chairs). If you are planning to sleep all 7 in the TT then you’ll need to have 2 under bed tents (I think ours came with one). They are not huge and there is no head height but two kids could sleep under there. Other things we really liked were - comfortable beds, zip in groundsheet in the main awning, quick drying, very easy to tow, everything to do with the tent fitted in the centre of the trailer, all bedding fitted in the lockers so we could just hook up and go. To give you the full picture, the negatives for us were that the whole thing takes a good while to put up - number the poles it really helps and hopefully you can get the kids involved! The kitchen weighs a tonne and is awkward to carry - we probably would have been better not bothering - we never really used the sink and didn’t get the tap connected. Have a good watch of You Tube videos for both and weigh up the pros and cons. We moved up to a caravan to extend our season but did love the space the TT gave us. Good luck.

Hi slj76

Thank you for the reply. We really like the look of the Trigano and appreciate the feedback. Can’t wait to get it now.
Thanks.

We have a trigano galleon which we bought 18 months ago. We have used it quite a lot and we absolutely love it!
I would agree slj76 on their review of the galleon. We find it takes time to set up but the pros outway the setting up time.
Initially I didn't want to get the kitchenbit my husband convinced me to as it meant that we didn't have to try and pack kitchen stuff. It's so easy (heavy I know) to just lift off the kitchen and pop it straight into the awning. We had the sink tap connected by camoerlands before we collected the tt. It's good to have running water, especially for brushing teeth and filling the kettle etc. It's handy to have the sink as sometimes you can be quite a trek from the campsites washing up facilities or for when you don't want to leave the tent due to the weather.
We don't use the water to drink though.
We are going to order the bedroom side annex this year to give us an extra bedroom and a specific place to put the porta loo.
I hope you have as much fun and plenty of adventures in your tt as we are having in ours 😊

The raclet Safari gives you significantly more living space than the galleon. The trailer is wider, giving you 2 full 5 ft beds. This also makes the under bed spaces bigger for extra bedrooms. The living space is therefore also much wider. The new model has updated the sun canopy to reach the floor and make a cosy shelter which was a criticism I had of our model. We had a 2013 model and absolutely loved it until health issues pushed us over to a caravan. The dimensions of the Raclet (excluding sun canopy ) 580cm deep x 500cm wide. The Galleon is 535cm deep x 390cm wide, so significantly less living space. The kitchen that comes with the Raclet is fantastic too. Has a tap and pump to connect to water hog, so you have running water and drains into a waste hog. It is also an extremely easy tent to put up. There is an excellent you tube clip - it really is that simple!

-------------
Better a rainy day in a tent than a sunny day in the office!

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve ordered the Trigano and paid the deposit today. Collection sometime in May.
