The daughter and her hubby plus boy(7) and girl(12) are thinking about getting a folding camper, Pennine or Conway but are on a very limited budget of up to £1500 at a very big stretch and with some help from us.
Although I am familiar with caravans I cannot advise them on the best sort of layout for them on folding campers especially with the two children.
Can the sleeping areas be cordoned off so that the youngsters can sleep away from the parents who may want to stay up a bit later?
Thinking maybe boy sleeps in sleeping bag on a rear double and when sis goes to bed a bit later she gets into her own sleeping bag next to him on the double bed.
BTW we came across one which looked alright except that the canvas had a small tear. Can these sort of tears be repaired easily and if so how and at what sort of cost?
Also what sort of electrical connection will be required between car and folding caravan?
Any advise will help. Thanks.
Hi, if the beds have the inner pods then they can be closed to give the adults a bit privacy. If the tear is not to big you may be able to repair it using tenacious tape.If it has a battery you would need a 13 pin connection or 2 7 pin on the car.
We have a 1994 Conway countryman, best 800 I ever spent. Perfect for me, the missus and our two girls (7 and 9). The girls sleep in the other double bed but we also have the under bed tent/pod too that our 12 year old niece goes in when she joins us.
Thanks for the replies. Got a quote for a towbar for a 2003 Xsara Picasso and it was £380 so will need to put purchase of folding caravan on back burner for awhile unless a cheap folding caravan comes up in really good condition for her.
