Hello everyone.
We have recently purchased a 2001 pathfinder.
When the wind blows the door side stretcher poles come out of their hook slots mainly at the rear but sometimes at the tow bar end too.
I have tried putting guy ropes onto the top flap canvas to stop it riding up in the wind but have had no luck sorting it ?
Also the oven blows out with any gust of air. Even when we walk past it with the door and canvas fully closed.
Under the oven there are a row of vent slots. It looks to me that there is a cover or baffle missing and maybe I should fit a plate over them.
Any help/ advise would be gratefully received.
Many thanks
James
Do you tension all your poles enough to make the canvas taught? There is a little popper button you press in and it pops out into the next hole. . If the canvas is too slack the poles will come out of the hook slots. Ours do when we drop the poles to take down. If you put it up again to fix the problem, put a pic of your poles as you would set them and we can see if we can see a solution. Hope we can help.
The Poles are two different lengths, I can never remember whether the longer ones fix on the rear (over the seats) or the front (over the wardrobe/washroom).
It took me awhile to realise the difference, they look the same.
We still have the pathfinder but I haven’t put it up since last year, you tube again!!!!!
Hello everyone,
We do put the poles in the right way as they are marked up "tow bar end" etc.
We do tension up the canvas using the center pole and the bedroom poles after we have Velcro it and when the stretcher poles come out it is quite difficult to get them back in again because of the tension.
I do wonder if the right angled pins need bending out a bit ?
Thanks for the advise.
Any idea about the slots below my oven that allows the slightest breeze to blow out the flame ?
Many thanks
James
we used to have to have the poles with the poppers out of the holes and literally out of the other poles. we had the same issue to begin with, they constantly came out. We put them in and extended out then put the other frames up to tension it. So based all the tension off the stretcher poles.
As for the oven, we never had this issue at all so can only think that there is a plate of some description missing to stop the air movement.
