Hi. I have just purchased a Pennine Fiesta 2006. We are new to this so at first it will be used for weekends away with our dogs. We are first time dog owners. We got a bargain. The cabin fixtures are in great condition. However the canvas isn't so good. The retailers are working hard to clean it up. There are quite a few jobs I would like to do before we use the camper next Spring. It will be my winter project. The first and most important to me is the bed. I would like to completely change it. My first question therefore is will a standard double mattress fit?
I'll be back with more questions.
Thanks in advance.

Short answer, it depends on the size. What is important is the depth, if it is too deep the unit will not fold.

Good point, didn't think of that. It probably didn't take much for you to work out I'm a newbie.
I will check the depth when we pick it up at the end of August.
Thanks for your reply.

For information on folding campers / trailer tents

put in "Blue Sky Holdings" into Google search. This site does not allow direct link.

There is a wealth of information that you will find really useful in your new adventure

Regards

Hello JayJay. Congratulations on your new unit, hope you have lots of fun it it. We used to have the Countryman but then switched to a Pathfinder.

We bought the Kampa Kit Highrise mattresses which need to be taken out when folded down. (one can be stored inside, the other two lay on top of the folded down unit). We also bought the Outwell Constellation Lux sleeping bags. These can be left on the beds when you set down. These are heavy sleeping bags and roomy, so it feels like you're sleeping under a duvet. Both mattresses and bags were expensive, but the sleeping bits of camping MUST be right for me.

We have a 2004 Pennine Fiesta 2+2. When we bought ours, the previous owners had left a 3/4 mattress under the original one. We removed this and put a 1 inch memory foam mattress on top of the original. it is lovely and comfy now.

JayJay68.
I guess it's " horses for courses"
I can honestly say we find the beds in our fiesta really comfortable, I often remark to my wife how comfortable they are!
We just have mattress liners (Dunelm I'm told) fitted sheets and then a proper sized duvet for both beds.
I must ask the question (forgive me!) have you actually tried them yet?

I haven't tried the mattress yet. We finally picked it up today. I will try it out before I decide what to do. Thanks for your reply.
