Hi. The wind took our trailer tent canopy and the poles were still attached. It’s a Sunncamp 400se. The main bedroom frame poles, the ones that curve round were bent. Is there anyone we can take it to to fix it? I’ve thought of the local blacksmith, blowtorching it etc, but wondered if there was anywhere else we could take it. I also need to replace all the poles with the hooks that hook into the main frame. There’s 3 of them.
I hate to see an ignored cry for help! I don’t know your unit, but most tent poles are made from quite soft steel, which usually can be bent back into shape by anyone with a vice, or even a work bench. Go at it gently, bit at a time until it comes true.
You should be able to source the hooks as well, they just push in, maybe with a bit of hammer persuasion. Somewhere like Towsure Check the diameter of your poles carefully.
The otherthing I’d recommend is some marquee pegs for the main guy ropes, looks like they are made from rebar, and a big hammer. Does wonders for the confidence in breezy conditions.
I would recommend seeing if you can get some pipe bending springs which prevent the pipe creasing when you bend it.
I know they come in 22mm but don't know the size of the poles.
A plumber might be able to help, they bend pipes most of the time.
