I recently bought a Conway trailer tent and took it to Devon for a week. My friend and her daughter joined us. My son and I slept in one bed and my friend and her daughter should have been sleeping in the other. However, my friend is 22 stone and the bed collapsed on her first night! Very funny, but does anyone have any ideas on how to reinforce the bed for the next time she camps with us??

yeah put blocks of wood under the legs on the ground, I suspect you didn't do this and hence why the bed gave way, because those beds are able to take the weight of 2 adults so shouldn't have had an issue with her weight, also she should have been sleeping nearest to the hinges which would have supported her better,

pretty sure the bed was either set up incorrectly or damaged already as that weight shouldn't have made it collapse.

Agree with the previous poster - 22 stone is 22 stone, but it's no more than two average sized adults which the bed should easily cope with. Is it possible there are support legs or similar which should have been engaged but weren't? It would help to know what model your Conway is?

This just happened to me (tho I’m not 22st and I don’t have a Conway!) I have a Raclet Minto and what I think happened is the supporting leg has previously been damaged and so it gave way. I now need to completely replace the bed wood as it’s cracked at the hinge edge and I’m going to change the bed supports for something a bit more substantial.
