Evenin' all. I have a bit of an issue with my conway cruiser, and before i get out the tools and start stripping the problem bits down, i'd like to get some info first.
Camper in question is a 1989 Conway Cruiser.
Issue #1)
Door has been rebuilt by a previous owner. Unfortunately, their "repair" has left it neither square, nor correctly sized. Originally i understand it would have been timber framed, with a metal outer skin/ply inner skin. Currently it is a sheet of roughtly cut chipboard with fablon on the inner and the old metal outer glued(?) to the exterior.
I have asked on both the conway cruiser owners facebook group and the Blue Sky campers facebook group, for measurements (LxWxH) of an unmolested door (and LxWxH of doorway size) so i can rebuild it, but have yet to get any useful response. Any chance anyone on here can assist?
Issue #2)
As a result of investigating issue 1, I have noticed that the lower hinge screws appear to be fixed into nothing (they just turn and do not tighten). I am thus assuming this means that the wood(?) behind is rotten/broken and needs replacing. Does anyone know the construction details of the panels on a conway cruiser? are they just two skins over a wooden frame - like the door - or are they sections of chipboard (like the floor) with skins glued on?
Also, is there any "best" way to do this?
