I've just bought a trailer which appears to have been a trailer tent.
It's corrugated metal bodied and the suspension seems to be coil springs in a leading link style with the pivot at the rear.
Can anyone ID it from the brief description as I would like to know the weights etc.
At a guess it's British as it has the older style cast hitch and the wheels are 4.00 x 8.
I'll get some pics if anyone has any idea??

Just tried that and for the life of me I can't get it to load.
I had to resize and I've attempted to reload and it went through with no message but I can't see anything so I give up.
Usually you just add a file to the post but this style of forum doesn't do that.
Anyway if anyone can give me an email I'll send the pics.
Just to add to the description it has 2 small coil springs in front of the axle with the leading link pivot behind the axle. in between the two is a rubber bump stop which is half round.
The actual size is 6ft x 4ft

The tyres may give you a clue to the max weight. There is usually a load rating which you can look up on line

That's just for the tyres which are universal so they show the max pressure etc that the tyre can handle.
Chances are I won't be putting anything really heavy in it as it was only designed for canvas and wood.
If I could find out the make it would probably tell me and if it's British it'll probably be in cwt's lol
I just wanted to know as I like to know these things. There are no markings or weights on it as it's too old.

Is there no weight plate on it? Our old trailer tent had a weight plate under the hitch.

I think it was an AJC trailer tent and with 400 x 8 Wheels it would have been rated at a max gross weight of 400kg,

I think I've had success getting the pics in the gallery or on my profile??
Anyway have a look. It's far too light to be a regular car trailer hence my suspicion it may be an old trailer tent??
I've now done a fairly good renovation and strengthened it and also repaired with new pop rivets and welding.
A lot of the pop rivets holding the body together had gone and I also cut out a lot of steel and reinforced the front and rear edges as well as installing a new steel tube completely from front to rear.
Also I have renewed the cracked tyres lol
