Having been stung badly in the past - single parent, couldn't afford camping equipment insurance as well as car insurance - and had all my equipment stolen 😭 I'm wondering what insurance members have found is best for a cheap (only £300 worth, but still) trailer tent?

Try Towergate. They usually charge around £70pa for a low value caravan or trailer tent. Trouble is if you did wish to claim you might find their idea of it’s value was very different to yours. Also they have a £75 excess.

Personally I would not bother, for kit worth £300 the policy would not be worth the paper it’s written on, live dangerously and spend the £50 policy money on a few bottles of bubbly, and invest in some decent security for your kit.

When camping most of our stuff was on the house hold insurance plus we have always had annual holiday insurance.
