Hi,

I am looking for a folding camper and have come across the Conway Countryman, they are the more affordable of the FC's but I am wondering if there is anyway of making it a 5 berth? Is there anyone that could help me by answering the following:
* Could the table be used across the seating?
* Is there a possibility of putting an inflatable bed between the seating?

Many thanks,
Nia

Why not just put an underbed tent beneath one of the beds. That's what we did. They are big enough for one person. Our grandaughter used to love sleeping in ours when we had a Countryman. (I'm assuming you have bedskirts)

We are using it to travel across Europe and wouldn't always put the awning up when travelling through so ideally would be better if everyone was in the main camper.

Under bed tents go under the fold out beds which have the space underneath covered by the bed skirts. You don't need to erect the awning.

We have the under bed tents so I know how they work however, we have young children and would like to be in the same area as them during the night which is why I asked if there was way to make the a bed within the main camper.

how old are the kids? if under about 10 then they should be able to sleep 3 across the bed, rather than the normal side to side

With our old Countryman we had 3 of us, myself and my big teen kids (14/15). The middle alley on the floor was okay-ISH, but quite tight for a teen. I can't quite remember how i did it, but I made the bed on the right (as you enter) into a double size by using the sofa cushions at double height, and adding extra height on top of the cupboard at the end of the sofa. I added a mattress on top and the slight bumps didn't seem obvious. So as my memory serves, I was 3/4 on the sofa and 1/3 on the bed. It meant the curtains couldn't come down, but it was much more comfy than the teen on the floor.
I can't remember why i didn't go down the bed in the middle route?? I think this worked for us and I stuck with it.
They're narrow beds and the older the kids get the harder it is to fit everyone in.

The age range is too vast to get them all in together unfortunately but a great idea when they were little. Thank you.

With our CM, it came with a cheap plastic (I think Ikea) step. I lost count of how many times that step failed us!! In the end I bought a really solid proper camping step.
It was the duffer step that gave me the idea for the extra width bed because it was almost the same size as the end-of-sofa-cupboard. I chopped off the legs and it made the perfect foot rest! Ha, happy camping memories.
I love how necessity is the mother of invention during camping trips. xx
