Hi all,
Not sure if this is something somebody has any knowledge of but I am after replacement penn vent poles for my pennine pullman. It’s the poles for the outside bed ends and kitchen windows. The model I have is a 2002 535 SE model. I thought these would be quite easy to replace but I’ve contacted Pennine who said they don’t do them any longer for this model which I found strange. If anybody has knowledge of anywhere I could try and source some it would be really appreciated.
Thank you
------------- Thank god it's Friday lets go camping
Get some lengths of small diameter round timber and cut to length,, it will be flexible enough for the vents, did this myself on my pullman when II owned one, any timber merchant or diy shop will sell it
Fibreglass tent poles can also be used. They have have enough whip in them to keep the vents nicely tensioned. That is what Pennine used on the later models.
Hi I’m going to make my own Penn vent poles for my pennine fiesta I know the length but can anybody help me on the pole thickness? ( I’m gonna use replacement fibreglass tent poles)
Cheers, paul
Hi.I measured the glass fibre penn-vent poles on my Crusader (Pathfinder) just a couple of weeks ago. They are 8mm diameter glass fibre.
The sets are about £25, collect only from Pennine but you can knock up more affordable alternatives from 4mm Roman blind rods from ebay (but I guess these would be less rigid than 8mm originals). Ebay also lists 7mm glass fibre tent poles that would do the job but these would usually require one or more of the elasticated metal joints to be utilised to make them long enough for a Pennine window.
Thanks guys , in the meantime I dug an old beach shelter out the garage it has 3 fibreglass poles with elastic and bingo cut them down and works a treat 👍👍
BTW pole sizes are 2x 1880mm and 1x 1730mm
There are metal caps on the end also which was a bonus
