Hi I’m thinking of changing my tent for a folding camper. Got a few questions hope you can help. I was thinking of a pennine pathway are they any good. Also after looking through YouTube videos the one thing that crops up is storage. Also if we also get an awning this may sound silly but how do you transport it. We are a family of 5 adults so any info would be grearfully received.

The awning and poles can be put onto the floor of the camper, or in the car boot.

Thats the start, camping - loved it, trailer tent - loved it and now a caravan - wish we did it right from the start. Our tailer tent the awning went on the top when folded down then the towing cover on top of that.

I don't know if this is relevant but I found the Pathfinder awning too big for us (only 3 of us camp), and difficult to manage, so I bought an Pennine air awning which is smaller and much easier to put up. I store it under the sofa next to the sink unit.

There’s 5 of us me and the mrs and 3 grown up kids adults.
But is the pathfinder ok and could two put the awning up easy.

Two could put the awning up, my wife and I did it.

I'm assuming as they're adults they'll be sleeping in the awning? as the Pathfinder for five adults in the cabin is probably not suitable.

5 adults would be a squeeze, not impossible and because some campsites don't allow sleeping in the awning, you might not have a choice. The bed nearest the toilet is marginally bigger than the other one, but even then it was a bit of a squeeze for myself and my 15yo daughter. Do-able, but not overly comfortable. If you got a double mattress (we used 2 singles and squished them in) that would be about the right size.
I really can't see 2 on the sofa bed as the bed is only as wide as the narrowest sofa (next to the sink), and I can't speak for 2 in the other bed as I've never tried it. Very tight I imagine.
The other option would be to have one on the floor, (I used to do this in my countryman before we got the Pathfinder) but anyone needing the loo at night would struggle. But I think it could be done.
You'll definitely need the awning as you'll have 5 x the amount of clobber, but you'll have super memorable holidays as a result. :-)

There is 5 of us all one family but I mentioned the path finder because it says it’s a six berth so is it space for one on the sofa. Bed and. 2 each on both beds

Yes, that's the plan! They class the larger bed as king size (more like a double) and the opposite bed is a large single...as is the sofa bed. I sleep on the sofa bed which I share with the dog. I certainly wouldn't want to share that with another adult. The younger the kids the better, but it depends how cosy you like getting. I had to share with my daughter when my brother camped with us, and it was a bit tight. But do-able. maybe better to top and tail...??

Are you able to see a pathfinder and try it out? make sure all your campers will be happy..

(Maybe, and I don't rule this out, we're just a bit spoilt with space as it's only 3 of us that camp. when we've had to share we're all a bit put out because it's not the extravagant comfort that we're used to!! Maybe being able to stretch out in bed and fling arms around is a real luxury in camping we just take for granted)! hahha

I've just found the measurements of the 2 beds: 198 x 137 and 198 x 122. On the floorplan, the sofa bed looks the same size width as the 122 bed. But, the width of the bed is only as big as the smallest sofa. If there was a way to make the sofa bed base angled to slightly increase the middle section, you can have your heads on the largest sofa and feet angled towards the narrower section. I've thought of doing this but haven't bothered because I don't need the extra width.

Hi,
We have a Trigano randger 575 TC, which is very similar to the pathfinder, just it is slightly smaller & has no oven. However the beds are both full doubles, 195 x 140. It’s fine for 4 adults but sleeping 6 would not be comfortable or practical.
Storage wise, there’s loads of room. The awning/poles go on the floor between the sofas leaving room for other stuff & our chairs/cupboards/ground sheets go on top under the cover.
It’s like packing a caravan/motorhome in that all your kitchen stuff etc is in the cupboards ready to go. Ours is in storage near Beziers & we can fly out , have it pulled out to a campsite & everything is in it ready to go, including a bike!

Annexe extension on the awning gives extra sleeping space.

Not sure two adults would sleep comfortably on the dinette seats, plus you have to climb over if made into double to access the end bed.
