We had the good fortune of being lefta Camplet Concorde a few years ago. We have never used it and it had resided in our garage for the last three years.
We have now decided to give it a whirl this year, but before venturing out we decided that it would be the wise thing to have it insured. The problem is that the insurance application form asks for the date of manufacture.
I haven't a clue. There is a chassis number stamped in to the A frame and a metal tag on the centre rail under the trailer with various numbers and letters. I haven't looked at it too closely, I'm well over 70 years old and not quite as agile as I used to be. Could the information I require be on this tag? If so, I'll take a closer look.
I pulled the Camplet out of the garage the other day and opened it up. It was a bit of a struggle, but what a pleasant surprise! It's in perfect condition with no mustiness or damage to the canvas and the kitchen is like brand new.
We are quite looking forward to returning to the camping scene. I'll invest in a new set of tyres and have the wheel bearings checked, just to be on the safe side.
Any advice regarding the dating of the Camplet would be much appreciated.
