I am an owner of a Gobur folding carousel caravan. I love it and it makes it possible for me (an older lady) to go away on my own.
Does any one have a a manual or know where I can get one. Gobur do not produce one.
I have always had problems putting the roof up on my own but now I think I have been doing wrong all these years. The on-line videos do not show the step by correct way to erect the roof.
I have been told that I must not fully release the back end clips before raising the front. Can anyone please confirm this as I have now lost confidence after the back end 'shot up' after releasing all clips and I couldn't get it to go down again.
Any advice would be really amazing. Thank you.

Robyn1818, I have a gobur carousel, the correct way of erecting it is release the tension on the year clips but leave attached th the bracket, go to the front, release the clips fully and lift the front into position, go to the rear take of the clips and lift the back, we have a screwable catch to hold the back to the roof, open the door making sure that the lower half stays straight out then lift the side and clip one clip on the inside then lift the other side and clip all of the other clips, lift up the sink etc, lift the side panel to the toilet, lift the toilet door off the seats, lift up the wardrobe, secure the toilet door and hang the cupboards on the walls, lift up the toilet cabinet and place the support under it, to take it down, undo all the ceiling/wall clips both side apart from one either side, remove tthe wall cupboards and lower the bathroom cabinet, release the toilet door, lower the sink unit, lower the wardrobe, lower the toilet door onto the seat, unclip the final wall clip and lower the side, we always place a cushions under to support it, undo the clip near the door making sure the lower part of the door is straight out and lower the side, shut the lower part of the door and secure, close the upper part of the door, go to the rear unscrew the catch holding it in place and lower the back, secure loosely on the clip, go to the front lower the front make sure all the rubber roof seals overlap the front back and sides, fully clip the front, go to the rear and fully clip the rear clips, we use pins through the holes in the clip to stop them springing off in transit, hope this post is of some help to you, please feel free to message me if you need any more information, I do have a paper manual that gobur gave me when I purchased, think it is about 10pages in total

Hi kpnuts81,
Many thanks for all this information and confirming that I need to keep the back clips attached to the bracket before I lift the front.
This is the best information about putting a Gobur roof I have ever had.
Your information was very detailed and just what I was looking for.
The online videos leave out the little details that make the process understandable. Even the Gobur videos fail to show what to do with the back clips before putting up the front.
Thanks once again, I really appreciate that you took the time to help.
Now a very happy Gobur owner.

That would be great but I am a little worried about posting my email address.
It must have taken ages to photograph 38 pages.
Let me find out if there is a way to send an email address privately. I haven't used this website very much and just exploring all the areas and security.
Thanks

Ok Robyn1818 no problem, if I don’t hear from you enjoy your gobur, they really are a great bit of kit and Gobur themselves are a helpful company who will give help if you contact them, as regards the email address I think you can go through admin but not sure on that

Robyn1818, release all the clips first, then release the front catch and lift the front to the vertical.
Then go to the rear and release that catch adn lift the rear panel vertical.

The rear dampers are much stronger than the front, which makes life awkward if you undo the rear first.

Have a look online for Gobur Owners Club and contact them if in doubt.

The Gobur is a great little van(ette)

Hi Bridgelayer,
Many thanks for this info. Will now be spending some time practicing lifting the roof before I go away next time.
Yes, time I joined the Gobur Owners Club.
Regards,
Robyn
