So this might sound like a dumb question...and it probably is :)

We went to look at a Ramet Louisiana trailer tent over the weekend, and it seemed generally nice. HOWEVER my 18 month old toddler was enjoying climbing around the beds when suddenly (to my horror) he disappeared off the edge of the bed and down the side of the trailer! We hadn't realised this was possible...very luckily, he slid down the inside of the fabric onto the ground, and wasn't hurt at all. But obviously this can't ever happen again, and we want to take him with us when we next go camping. At night he'll sleep in a cot, so this won't be a risk, but in the daytime we will want him to be able to safely move around inside the trailer tent.

Am I missing something obvious - is there a way of connecting the fabric to the bed to prevent this happening again? We didn't buy the trailer tent yet, so maybe different brands / models don't have this issue? Hmm!

Sounds like the inner tents weren't clipped up into position?

Yes, certainly in our tt, the inner tents mean that they can't fall out of the bed (and, until they can work out how to undo the zip, they can't get out of bed full stop!)

They can, though, fall out of the seating area both into the awning and onto the front of the trailer. Ours did the former lots of times but happily not the latter.

Enjoy it! Ours first went camping when they were babes in arms. They were a lot easier then than they were when toddling about but it was all great fun.
