Having caravanned all over the UK it is safe to say TV reception is patchy even with an Ariel 2.5m up on the roof and with a booster. In extreme cases where reception is zero we use a satellite dish, but is bulky but works. As a minimum go for a stand alone telescopic pole with a mini version of a household Ariel, height is the key.
