Hi Newby here
We have recently purchased a Conway crusader folding camper we would like to know if anybody knows or if they have done this if you can fit 2-5kg safe fill gas bottles in the locker, I have measured it looks like they might fit with a squeeze but would like to hear from anybody that knows or has done this please.
Don't forget you may need room for a regulator on top of the cylinder as well. Modern caravans have a regulator fixed on the bulkhead in the gas locker with a pipe leading to the bottle. Older caravans had a regulator screwed on top of the bottle.
Yeah thanks navver the reg is on the van there is plenty of room at top of bottle its the width at the top of the bottle i am worried about as it may interfear with the gas compartment framework
As per above. Recommended is a 4.5kg bottle. There should be fixings for two bottles. We have been away for two weeks now in the last year and yet to even use up one bottle with two adults and two children.

Do you run much off the gas? Me & the Mrs were debating if we need two gas bottles today. She's in the just one camp, I'd like a spare. We'll be buying a pathfinder or crusader in the near future.
We rarely use a ehu so it's the fridge the oven and hob aswell as the water heater
I always try to have the one that is connected and the other full as the "spare"
Nothing worse than putting the kettle on to find out you have run out of gas
As above. It doesn't matter how much gas you use or whether or not you are on an EHU, you always need two bottles.
If you only have one, it will always run out in the middle of breakfast, when it is pouring with rain and there is not a stockist within 20 miles!
