Hi everyone this could be a stupid question but here goes, We have a 2010 Conway crusader FC my question is can you fit a truma combi unit to these to heat the air and water running off 240 volts and propane/diesel as most of the time we will be camping without hook up, obviously using a co2 monitor constantly, or is it dangerous with gas seepage through the awning material? only asking as Pennine has stopped selling these.
Not a help for the hot water, but I bought a chinese diesel air heater (parking heater) from EBay for £80. Does the job nicely and sips fuel even on high.
There used to be a Riviera heater which was gas operated and fitted completely in and under the floor. A big benefit was it didn't use 12 volt for controls or fan etc which is a problem in modern caravans. Also, they were very quiet in operation. They no longer make them but they occasionally appear on ebay but can sell for several hundred pounds because they are so good. Unfortunately they never were tested and approved by modern gas safety standards and I think that is why they stopped making them.
Propex make a modern range but generally use some 12 volt and make noise.

Do you get any diesel smell when it fires up?
If you're referring to the diesel Air heater, then no. The work on the same principle as truck cab heaters, and the exhaust is vented outside the cab, tent, workshop, wherever you have it. You can have the whole thing outdoors and the only part of the heater that enters the habitable area is the hot air pipe from the heat exchanger. No fumes, no smell. I have a set up which incorporates the heater and battery on a small dolly. I use it in my workshop with the exhaust venting outside. I could take it with me for use in our trailer tent. Heater outside, 4 inch hot air duct into the tent.

We just use a fan heater from Argos, it does have the cable issue like you’ve mentioned but, the hearter has a tip sensor so cuts power if the girls knock it over. Only big downside is you need mains hookup. I did once find a plinth heater that ran on gas and mains but can’t find it atm
Thanks for all the replies everybody we we did buy a Chinese diesel heater which is still boxed up and never used but we would like to heat the water as well when not on EHU so we have decided on the Truma combi I was just worried about Co2 seeping through the isabella top, just have to start saving now. So If anybody wants to buy a Chinese diesel heater I have one for sale
at 2kw it is drawing up to 8 amp but we rarely have it on full as it warms our pathfinder in no time. the fall over safety switch is great if it does get knocked over
