Thanks, Navver. Yes, we need to sort the hinges - and will be investing in a rivet gun. (My wife is the practical one in our marriage so that can be hers. She won't even let me touch the power drill!)
Hi Navver. We've just used our 1988 brown Discovery for the first time in over 20 years. Still as good as ever but I've forgotten stuff, one thing being how to get the little bench seat cushions packed away. I ended up putting them on top after the back then front had been folded down but realise this ain't right. When you say you put them on the floor, is that under or over the cooker/sink and mini cupboards? I tried it today but the ends didn't seem to be folding down completely flat as they should so moved them to on top of the end walls, as stated previously.
Hi Detectorist. I had a Designer which is similar to teh Discovery but has a table and 2 small seats instead of the small bench settee. hat means I had 4 square cushions and a table.
I put the table down so as to make a flat surface all about a foot high. I put the 4 cushions stacked on top of each other to the right of the door making a pile about a foot high.
The kitchen top tier went on the floor running from the kitchen to the door. This give a good solid base for the walls to rest on.
I think the Discovery has long cushions so they will have to go on the floor alongside the kitchen top or maybe inside the locker under the small bench.
It's really a matter of getting it down below the fold height which is about a foot.
I've been pondering this a bit more. I think you can put the cushions on the bench. Leave the seat cushion as is and drop the back rest down on top of it. You'll have to put teh arm rests on the floor I think.
If you lift the trailer cover at the back with Dandy folded down, you can see in the back on the left hand side there is quite a lot of space. I've put holdalls and bags etc in there for transit, remembering to remove them before opening it up.
