Hi Urmo and welcome to the Dandy, good choice.

What problems are you having packing up.

If you haven't got gas struts I suggest you try putting it up and down a few times without them before going to the expense.

The older models, say pre 2003 ish had aluminium bed which were light in weight so probably didn't need struts. Some people fitted them, especially older folks. Some of the aluminium beds cracked due to the extra force the struts put on them.

Newer models, the dark blue and white, have steel beds which are heavier and stronger. So they are more likely to benefit from struts and be strong enough to take them.

The strut raises the bed to vertical then once past vertical it starts resisting the bed dropping. As the bed dropping is still pulling the roof over, I'm not really sure they are much use at this point as you have to push the bed down hard to compress teh strut and pull the roof.

Keeping the inside of the roof clean with CIF Creme Cleaner and a damp sponge followed by a polish with Mr Sheen or similar will help considerably when pulling the roof over.

Hi Urmo

We have recently bought a Discovery which is basically the same. I'm not sure what happens to the table in yours but packing up is simply opening up in reverse.

I'll find the instructions we followed and post them here. (As I said in my thread about the Discovery, had the previous owners followed the instructions, our first setting up would have been a lot easier!)

Getting the hang of it now thanks all. First trip up to Oban in Sept, can't wait, but there is no way all the stuff from my Fiesta is going to fit, time to trim down a bit!
Thanks again for the advice folks.
