Hello knowledgable people.
We are a sailing family and need to tow a small dingy, has anyone attached a rack over the Pathfinder caravan that could carry a dingy that is around 120kg?
All advise welcome that will stop me sleeping in a tent!

Would you have enough spare payload to enable you to carry 120kg of dinghy plus the weight of a rack?

Would you be physically capable of lifting the dinghy on to the top of the rack?

120 kg sounds a fairly large dinghy.

You'll need a launching trolley but there are folding ones and they can travel on top of an upside down dinghy subject to weight.

Some means of carrying the mast especially if it's a one piece mast.

If not camping near the lake you may need a road trailer to get from the camp site to the lake.

Presumably you mean the Pathfinder folding camper.

A few have fitted bike racks, but not sure on relative weights. I would guess for 120kg you are going to have to fix the rack supports to the chassis. It sounds too much to lay on the upturned bed trays.

When you add the weight of the roof rack that will be most of your payload for the Pathfinder gone.
