Hi one and all,

I have recently purchased a new Raclet Panama Trailer Tent. Its gross weight is 650kg according to the plate and a nose weight of 60kg.

When I looked at the tyres today (165/70 R13 80) I noticed that the maximum weight limit shown on the tyre is 450Kg, does anyone know whether this weight is per side of the axle, or have the wrongly rated tyres been put on the trailer?

As I understand it that is per tyre, so if you have a single-axle trailer the maximum weight would be 900kg.

Yes, 450kg per tyre, so 900 kg across the axle.
Another thing to check is the dates. There will be a lozenge shape on the tyre with 4 numbers on it. For example 2618, which means week 26 of 2018. Tyres are recommended to be changed at 5 years and never used after 7, even if they look fine and have lots of tread.
