Problem solved.
No need for batteries and chargers. It will be drawing a small amount of power all the time it is plugged in, but arrange it to be unplugged when not required. After all, in our caravan, we always switch off the water pump if leaving the caravan unattended just in case something happened and the pump switched on and drained the tank and then continued to run dry.
I agree with that completely.
