Hi all, Hope some of you can help. we are currently setup on site for a weekend and when we pitched I did the usual of turning the taps on and letting the hot and cold prime as well as fill the Truma water heater. Once primed I Turned on the heater at the switch and within half an hour we had hot water. This has always been great for the rest of the times away but this time after a few hours I went to run some hot water and it was as if I hadn’t primed the water. I primed it again let the water heat up but the same again, within a few hours it needed priming again.

I can’t find any leaks and the drain valve isn’t passing so I’m thinking air is done how getting back in and letting water back feed into the aqua flow if this is possible

Has anyone else had this issue ?

It may be the non-return valve between the water inlet and the hot water tank. Prime the water as normal, check the remaining water level in your water container, if the container is not transparent try using something as a dipstick. If, after a few hours your hot water tank is empty again re- check the water container to see if the level has gone up, signifying that water is draining back to the container through the pump.

Thanks Andy , just got it set up at home and done as you suggested so can see if I’d back feeding I havnt connected the kitchen sink as I think that’s where the issue is so just pulled a full water tank through with toilet hot tap. If that’s still fine after a few hours I’ll connect kitchen sink. If it died back feed now then I’ll know it’s the valve on the heater as you suggested

Looking into this, looks like i have three options available

Replace the none return valve o-ring built into the truma crystal compact inlet - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WreSnf7IRvE

Completely replace the Truma crystal compact inlet with a new one but these seem to be very hard to find

Upgrade to the Truma ultraflow system using the ultraflow compact conversion kit

Have resolved this issue now, it was the o ring passing on the truma compact inlet. I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade to the truma ultraflow inlet. As these instructions also stated a none return valve is to be placed before the drain down valve on the heater i also added one. filled up and no more back syphoning. I did manage to find an o ring for the truma compact so have it as a spare as well as the other bits if they are of use to anyone. the inlet itself isn't much good as its cracked and one hinge has broken.
