Hi, I am considering purchasing a 2002/3 Sterling SE (Style) however a little mouse has apparently made the canvas it’s home..
I have checked on eBay and only poor quality canvas is available. Aside of spending approx £2000+, where can I source good quality canvas replacement for less than I am buying the trailer for (£500)?
Appreciate any feedback on this one.
I very much doubt you will find a canvas for sub £500, your only hope would be someone breaking one, even then doubt you would get it for what you are looking for.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
That is what i was expecting in all honesty. The company was POL and it was an estimate that I had taken from a pathfinder ad. Apart from eBay, where else can I search for a breaking Sterling canvas? Any advice welcome..
I know TVS a while ago were sell off their stock, so maybe worth an email.
Facebook, Preloved and Gumtree, keep an eye on them.
I would also get in touch with Blue Sky Holdings, as he refurbs them he might have insider knowledge.
Good luck.
------------- XVI yes?

Short, straight answer - nowhere.
Personally speaking, I'd give that camper a miss and look elsewhere for a decent one.
Maybe costing more initially, but worth it in the end.

Thank you all for your valued advice. Looking into the Sterling trailer in a little more detail, I am not convinced of it’s history so going to leave well alone.
I have found another Sterling but older, although this canvas hasn’t been eaten by a mouse! It is a 1997 model and looks in very good condition. However….. they reproofed it 2 years ago with fabsil, not because it was leaking but “to be on the safe side”!!! All the research I have seen says irrelevant of age, only reproof IF absolutely necessary. As it has now been done (2 years ago) do we now have a lifetime of reapplying every few years or so? Or May the fabsil wear off over time and as it didn’t leak in the first place, then all ok?
