Although we were looking to buy a Conway TT, a Rapido Exportmatic came up at a price we couldn't refuse. After a lot of cussing we managed to put it up in the garden but the 10 minutes we were told it would take actually ran into 3 hours!!!! The problem we came across was lifting the second part of the roof into place. Does anyone know the trick to this? Do we need to rest the roof onto the first part first and then lift the side up?
It is wired for mains which I'll get checked, and there is, what appears to be, 12 volts as well but I don't know how to connect this to a battery as yet. There is a socket on the inside under the sink that has 2 holes and a pin. is this anything to do with it?
It is supposed to have a water pump, but I can't find it so I assume its missing. Are these available from caravan shops?
Sorry for all the questions, but it is a big difference to our trusty frame tent. I'm sure we'll have plenty more questions in the future!
We are just venturing out on our first trip with a confortmatic. I do have copies of original erecting instructions which I could email to you if I had your email address.
We too were used to tents and have only put rapido up in garden a couple of times.
Graeme h what do you mean by updates on uk landline connections? We have a confortmatic and would be interested in any upkeep/refurbishment tips you may have for us.
Just come back from our 1st ukcs meet at Bagwell where it was referred to by one person as a cardboard caravan.
Hello have been shown to your post by a very helpful person on here. We too are having problems, our first attempt took us about 2 hours just to get the main part up finding where all the cabinets etc went was the easy part, as for the awning well thats still wrapped up, no doubt you're looking at another 2 hours to do that too. Was wondering if you've worked out a quicker way to put the caravan up. We've not even got as far as testing anything else! Many thanks,
Unfortunately, we still haven't figured out the knack yet! The last time we put up our caravan, it took nearly an hour just to get the pieces above the doors in! I still think I'm missing the point somewhere! I'm starting to think that a trailer tent might be a better option! Whoever puts these things up in 20 minutes must be superman!
Please don't despair these things ARE easy to put up! once levelled 10 mins is really all it takes; Cliff if you still had problems you could have got back to me I'm more than happy to try to help. The bits above door are the hardest parts to understand they are made easier to fit by aligning the roof sections using the jockey wheel; if on severely uneven ground you sometimes have to put your back against door frame and push to fit them in.Sarah I have full erection instructions if you drop me an email I can send you a copy. Happy to help!
Sorry you're still having problems with your caravan Cliff.Must admit we had the same trouble over the doors on Sat, at one point one bit actually came off and hit my partner in the head...ha ha! sorry its not funny really but it was at the time! I guess we will all get there in the end. Poppi thanks for offering to send me the instructions, thats great. I have emailed you, thank you so much for all your help,
