If it's any comfort the same thing happened to mine too and I don't have the foggiest why. I'm going to have a go at taking it off, gluing and screwing it back on and seeing how that works. I doubt it will make much difference given the forces that are operating when the bed boards swing out but we'll see. If it holds, I'll let you know.
