Hi folks looking some info if possible.
My wife has a Vauxhall Viva 1.0 and we have a suncamp holiday se trailer tent and we only carry the main tent as awning frame etc is no longer used so gross weight is less.
My question is would the viva pull this safety & legally ? Many thanks for any help in this matter 🤙
Not sure the Viva is capable of towing anything, as doesn't appear approved for towing!
Check your V5 reg document for 'Technical permissible maximum towable mass of the trailer', split into braked and unbraked figures. If blank, then not approved for towing anything.
The Viva has a 'complicated' history of rebranding to become a Vauxhall, and it was designed as a city car, so no surprise if no tow capacity!

This is not true. Neither my Land Rover 130 or my Freelander have any mention of max trailer weight anywhere on the V5 but they are perfectly legal to tow with. My Defender has a plated maximum GTW of 7500 and a maximum GVW of 3500 kg. The Freelander has a maximum GVW of 2060 kg and a maximum GTW of 4060 kg. Neither of these are shown anywhere on the V5, only on the VIN plate. Interestingly neither of them has the kerb weight shown anywhere, either on the VIN plate or the V5.
You are correct though as saying that the Viva is not rated for towing, this is because there is no plated MGTW only a MGVW if there is no plated figure for a maximum train weight, you cannot tow with it. Only plated weights are legal and there is no requirement for any vehicle weights to be shown on the V5.
