Hi All

Just been checking over our pathfinder and noticed the gaiter bellows have split. as we live near the coast metal rusts really quickly and can see a bit of surface rust on the drawbar. Unfortunately in Dorset all the servicing places are booked up well into October and as we are going away soon I want to get it sorted. Has anyone replaced one of these. I take it i need to take the hitch off but do I also need to remove the plastic the covers the A frame so that I can attach the gaiter

I had to look up what gaiter bellows are! (everyday's a school day). I'm not sure I would attempt replacing it myself but if this girl on youtube can do it, I'm sure you can too. Hope it works out.

what makes you think its not an alko hitch? every pathfinder i have seen has an alko on it, meaning that you should be able to follow the instructions given by the video posted above and removal of the plastic cover should be necessary

Thanks Vivienne and I appreciate you taking the time to post the link

marg6 I was referring to the video which wasnt a Akko hitch and wasnt a pathfinder it was a boat trailer . I know my pathfinder is a alko 2004 hitch but the fitting guide didn’t cover fitting the gaiter bellows

Regardless the job was easy enough just removing the tow head and didnt need to remove the plastic round the a frame
