Topic: pathfinder door frame continued

Hi all

Ive been trying to get down to the issue of the door frame opening on my 2005 pathfiner being larger at the top causing a slight gap in the door.

Ive started this post as the one I added to about two years ago got a little long.

I want to know if anyone has any further suggestions as to what is causing this issue

The Problem

Using a straight line on the body panel sides I can see the the front portion doesn't align with the rear of the camper. When folded the camper line runs parallel

As you can see from the red line when its unfolded the front part bends down causing the wider opening in the door

Suggested causes have been

Bent frame
I had the frame looked at by a caravan service guy while we were away who was on the site and he couldn't see any bending or warping in the frame when the camper was unfolded. He did add though that he hasn't got much experience with folding campers and so couldn't really offer any further advise.

Bent gas sruts
these were bent and had pulled into the frame so currently I have them removed while i wait delivery of the larger metal plates that poeple have used to fix the strut issue. However with the struts removed the door frame issue is still present.

I cant see any sights off rot and all the wood work around the front corner seems solid

I hope someone here maybe able to shine a light on what else is causing this. Am i not being force full enough with the corner steadies

We had this with our Pullman, we tightened up the steadies when pitched until the gap reduced. I presumed there was some flexibility in the shell.
