Welcome.
Many will advise against using Milton to sterilise your water system, as it's effectively a mild form of household bleach, and can react corrosively with some of the materials in your water system if left too long or not completely flushed out. That said, my Lunar caravan instructions advocate it's use (with constraints on how long it's in the system)!
Perhaps a better sterilising product is Puriclean, which both sterilises the water system AND cleans out algal build up in the pipes (Milton doesn't do that) without risk of damage. https://www.cleantabs.co.uk/product/puriclean/
The method is to dissolve the required (follow instructions on package) amount of product in cold water in your water container, pump the mixture FULLY throughout you water system, ensure all air is purged and only water is flowing out of taps etc., then leave in system for 1 or more hours for it to do it's thing. Then flush system through with clean fresh water until all traces of Puriclean mix and dislodged debris are cleared. If the system has never been cleaned properly before, don't be alarmed at how much 'gunk' Puricleam may dislodge, just flush through until clean water runs.
It's advisable to clean the water system as least at start of season after a period of layup, more frequently if you feel the need. Most caravaners don't use the aquaroll/piped water for drinking (unless boiled for say tea), but some do, reserving it for washing, washing up, or cooking with. Most prefer to use a frequently replenished container of drinking water kept in the van, generally regarded as safe to fill that from site stand pipes, it's the often long standing water in aquarolls and pipes that concerns most of us - usually a few mini bugs to be found in the aquaroll when you come to refill!

I also use Puriclean merely because it destroys the bio-film which is the bacteria that clings to the plastic surfaces whereas Milton sterliser doesn't. Also Milton is corrosive with metal components (confirms this on label) which the heater element inside the hot water tank is steel so Puriclean is the best product for the job.
