Hi,

I have recently bought a 1996 Conway Clipper & I'm in the process of renovating it. My mian concern at the moment is the wooden panels used for the sleeping area have a sizeable amount of mold on them which I am wanting rid of.

Question 1: What is the best solution for removing the mold?

Question 2: What material would people recommend as a replacement?

bleach will kill it, and then leave to dry in the sun making sure they are totally flat

Pretty sure when folk have talked about replacing bed boards they spoke about marine ply.

Hopefully a bit of bleach and hardwork might help, if that doesn't work then marine ply it is.

I Had mould on my Pullman ...

After cleaning it off I then painted the entire board (both sides and edges) with yacht varnish (two coats) ...

Never had any more damp problems, and, a lot cheaper than replacing the boards!

Was reading various comments some saying painting the boards doesn't allow them to breathe and others saying it's fine. I'll see if I can get mold off then go from there. Cheers.
