Hi Guys,
We recently bought a ‘90s Conway cruiser which is in great condition and we are taking it away this weekend.
I had a 75ah battery spare which I have charged and put in there and tested. There are retrofitted 12v sockets in the trailer which all work and also the water pump, fridge and original 12v lighting all work.
With regards to towing, and the issue is the instructions have rubbed away so I am missing key information, do I have the battery connected and set the switch by the voltage gauge to “car”. The charger switch etc can all be off for towing?
I am assuming this will trickle charge the battery and run the fridge…
When parking up and running off the battery is it a case of flipping the switch by the voltage meter the other way to “battery” (i think I have “van” wrote on mine in pen?
We won’t have 240v hook up this weekend so will be relying on gas and 12v.
Thanks for any help!
My switch is a rocker type selector switch which is horizontal. Mounted on the seat base panel.
Have also been reading and found I need another electrical connector for the 12 v supply / charging. Oh well :-(

you wont be running off the battery, that only works on 12v while connected to your car with the engine running above tick over, you will need to run the fridge using gas
I dont knw the arrangement for your unit but for a caravan:-
Have you got a green switch and a red switch on the fridge.
If so, green will switch it to on via 230 volt mains EHU.
Red will switch it to on via 12 volt from the car provided you have a suitable plug and socket connected. It should only run while the car engine is running.
